World Missions

He said to them, Go ye into all the world
and preach the gospel to every creature.
~Mark 16.15

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying,
Whom shall I send and who shall go for us?
Then said I, Here I am; send me.
And he said, Go and tell this people,
Hear ye indeed, but understand not;
and see ye indeed but perceive not.
 ~Isaiah 6.8-9

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always even unto the end of the world. Amen.
~Matthew  28.20

Zion's Hope
http://www.zionshope.org/about/index.html
From their site:  "
Zion's Hope... seeks to graciously proclaim to the Jewish people their need for personal salvation through Jesus the Messiah and to proclaim the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to all men regardless of race, religion, gender, education, or national origin. Accordingly, Zion's Hope seeks to educate the bible-believing church concerning the place of Israel in both history and prophecy and assist it in fulfilling its God-given obligation to rightfully include the Jewish people in its program for world evangelism."

         The Voice of the Martyrs

Serving the persecuted church for thirty-five years .  The Voice of the Martyrs is a non-profit, inter-denominational organization dedicated to assisting the persecuted church worldwide. VOM was founded  thirty-five years ago by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who was imprisoned in Communist Romania for 14 years for his faith in Christ. His wife, Sabina, was imprisoned for three years. In the 1960s, Richard, Sabina, and their son, Mihai, were ransomed out of Romania and came to the United States. Through their travels, the Wurmbrands spread the message of the atrocities that Christians face in restricted nations, while establishing a network of offices dedicated to assisting the persecuted church. The Voice of the Martyrs continues in this mission around the world today through the following main purposes.

Please remember Gracia Burnham, NTM missionary, in prayer as she and her children establish a home, a new direction and life without her husband/their father---many changes, decisions, etc.,  following one year of captivity in the Philippine jungles. Her husband Martin was killed June 7, 2002.  Martin & Gracia were kidnapped on May 27, 2001 by the Abu Sayyaf Group from a resort off the island of Palawan in the Philippines.
The Burnhams have been members of NTM since 1985.

a friend sent me this heart rending poem...
We Are Responsible

  We are responsible for children
  who put chocolate fingers everywhere,

  who like to be tickled,
who stomp in puddles and ruin their pants,
  who sneak Popsicles before supper,
who erase holes in math workbooks,
who can never find their shoes.

And we are responsible for those
who stare at photographers from behind barbed wires,
who can't bound down the street in a new pair of sneakers,
  who never "counted potatoes",
who are born in places we wouldn't be caught dead,
who never got to the circus,
who live in an x-rated world.

  We are responsible for children
who give us sticky kisses and fistfuls of dandelions,
who sleep with the dog and bury goldfish,
who hug us in a hurry and forget their lunch money,
who cover themselves with Band-Aids and sing off-key,
who squeeze toothpaste all over the sink,
  who slurp their soup.

And we are responsible for those
  who never get dessert,
who have no safe blanket to drag behind them,
who watch their parents watch them die,
who can't find any bread to steal,
who don't have any rooms to clean up,
whose pictures aren't on anybody's dresser,
  whose monsters are real.

  We are responsible for children
who spend all their allowance before Tuesday,
who throw tantrums in the grocery store and pick at their food,
  who like ghost stories,
who shove dirty clothes under the bed ,and never rinse the tub,
who get visits from the tooth fairy,
who don't like to be kissed in front of the carpool,
who squirm in church and scream in the phone,
whose tears we sometimes laugh at and
whose smiles can make us cry.

And we are responsible for those
whose nightmares come in the daytime,
  who will eat anything,
who have never seen a dentist,
  who aren't spoiled by anybody,
who go to bed hungry and cry themselves to sleep,
who live and move, but have no being.

We are responsible for children who want to be carried,
and for those who must be...
For those we never give up on,
and for those who don't get a second chance.
  For those we smother...
and for those who will grab the hand of anybody
  kind enough to offer it.
