Wednesday Morning Family Prayer
O God, Who has in mercy spared us to the beginning of another day, we thank Thee for this renewal of Thy love. And now we come into Thy presence to ask Thee to give us Thy grace and blessing for the day that is before us. We desire to do Thy will, and to please Thee in all things. May we feel that Thine eye is upon us all the day long, and may we act as in Thy presence, and with an earnest desire to serve Thee, our heavenly Master. Lord, show unto each of us the task which Thou hast portioned out to us; and may we undertake it heartily for Christ's sake. Enableus to work for Thee whilst it is day; for the night is near when no man can work.

Let Thy blessing rest upon this household. Make us a family fearing and loving Thee.  Be Thou honoured in this house; and may it be seen Whose we are and Whom we serve. Grant that a spirit of unity and love may prevail among us. May we be kind and gentle towards each other, bearing one another's burdens, and so fulfilling the law of Christ. May those who rule be just, and kind, and considerate; and may those who serve do so cheerfully and willingly for Christ's sake. [Be with the little ones of this family, and may their hearts be given to Thee.]

Teach us, O Lord, to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world, looking for that blessed hope and Thy glorious appearing. And when Thou comest, may we be found watching. May our lamps be lighted, and our loins be girded, and we like servants who wait for the coming of their Lord.

O God, teach us to remember that our time is short, and that our days are few. Oh that we may be in earnest about our souls, and not be ashamed to confess Christ before our fellow men! May we declare plainly that we seek a better country than this, and that our home is above, and our treasure there also.

O Lord, enable us to live by faith, and not by sight, remembering that we are strangers and pilgrims here, and that this is not our rest. May we be ever looking, not at the things which are seen and are temporal, but at those things which are unseen and eternal.

And now we lift up our hearts unto Thee, thanking Thee for all the goodness and mercy which have followed us hitherto, and trusting Thee for the future. And to Thee, O Father, with the Son and the Holy Ghost, we would ascribe all honour and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. They will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil: for Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Now unto Him that is able to keep us from falling, and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy; to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.

Love, Sandy
