            A Wise Woman Is Like A Watered Garden

                                            (from a friend, no author given)

     Isa 58:10 And [if] thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul;
then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness [be] as the noonday:

         Isa 58:11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought,
and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose
waters fail not.

         Isa 58:12 And [they that shall be] of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt
raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach,
The restorer of paths to dwell in. Thought For Today If you give yourself to the hungry.....
      -The hungry person may be your husband who is hungry for your attentiveness when he talks to you;
      -Or it may be your child who is hungry for you to play a game with him;
      -Or it may be the relative who is hungry to receive a letter from you;
      -Or it may be that Sunday School class who is hungry for the Word of God and needs a teacher.
And satisfy the desire of the afflicted......
-The afflicted may be your child that you have afflicted with your critical tongue.
Then your light will rise in darkness.......
-Your whole household may be in darkness and you may be the only light available. God is promising that your light will radiate - if you give yourself.
Then your gloom will become like midday....
-If you give yourself, the depression and gloom that has plagued you - will disappear.
And the Lord will continually guide you....
-What a precious promise for guidance and direction for you life!
And satisfy your desire in scorched places...
-If you live in a parched and dry land, God is promising that He will satisfy your needs when you begin satisfying the desires of the afflicted.
And give strength to your bones....
And you will be like a watered garden....
-Imagine! You will be a fragrant garden filled with trees bearing much fruit, and lovely blooming flowers, even though you are right in the middle of a scorched land.
And a spring of water whose waters do not fail...
-You yourself will become a vessel that the Lord can use to bring renewal and refreshment to others.
And those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins..
-Is your family a shambles- a mass of ruins? If you give yourself, then those from among you can begin to rebuild. Those from among you may be your children, your husband, your parents, your in-laws, your fellow workers.
And you will raise up the age-old foundations....
-Begin by giving yourself as a living sacrifice to the Lord Jesus- holding back nothing. You have then raised up Jesus Christ to his rightful position as Lord and Foundation of your home.
And you will be called the repairer of the breach...
-Is there a huge breach in your relationship with another person? Maybe there is only a tiny crack- caused by a sharp tongue. Whatever the case may be, God want one person from your family who is willing to begin repairing the breach. God wants that person to be you.
The restorer of the streets in which to dwell...
-If you give yourself, God will use you to restore the broken ruins. Your life will be changed; your families life will be changed; and the Lord Jesus will be glorified.

O loving Father,
  We confess that much of the time we hypocritically love in word and tongue, yet not in deed and truth.  We give ourselves to you this day in order that you may change us into a woman who gives herself to the hungry.
In Jesus dear name,
Amen
