A Letter from Timothy in Ghana - The first letter of his second term in Ghana.

August 1, 2009

Greetings from Tarkwa!!

I wanted to send you all a quick update. I arrived here safely with all my luggage without any difficulty. One potential problem: I forgot my yellow-fever card!! But praise the Lord the officer didn't even notice! And then when I went through customs with my big cart full of luggage, I simply showed my Residence permit to the officer and without even touching any of my bags he sent me right on my way! Thank you all for your many prayers!

It's been great being back here and into the work. Always a joy seeing old friends too! John and Austin have been doing well with the ministry, exploring new villages and revisiting old ones. Yesterday we were blessed to have Isaac finish our six month course! (Which is essentially the five week course, just stretched over six months and only on Saturday morning.) What really blessed us was he works for the mines monday through friday and also has the option to work Saturday which counts as overtime--meaning he gets paid double. However the last six months he has made the great sacrifice to, instead, come and study the Word.

Tomorrow we go into the third week of our current discipleship course, we have three young students Richard, Mensah and Patrick.

We also just formatted and printed up and we have begun passing out a new tract on "What really happened on the day of Pentecost," along with one, "Stony heart, and heart of flesh." Brother James wrote them just before leaving, they are evidence of the Lord giving us more and more insight into the specific needs and strongholds present that need to be addressed.

I also wanted to share a little something the Lord has been speaking to me about. I was reading in Luke chapter 5:1-11, the story where Peter goes out fishing all night, which is the best time for fishing, and catches nothing. Then the Lord comes to him and tells "launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught."
Peter responds with "Master, we have toiled all night, and taken nothing: nevertheless *at thy word* I will let down the net." And of course they catch multitude of fishes, so much so that the nets begin to break.

The thing that really stuck out to me is that the second time they went out it seemed nothing was different, same lake, boat, nets etc.. But there was one big difference: the second time, they went out with the Word. The Word makes all the difference. We need a greater revelation of Jesus. It's clear Peter received a greater revelation of Jesus, because he saw himself more clearly: verse 8 says "When Peter saw it he fell down at Jesus knees, saying, depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord."

The Lord continues to give me a greater revelation of Himself--and a greater revelation of myself. We need more of Jesus! You can work all night but he is the difference between catching nothing--or a multitude!!

We are very excited and encouraged with what we see the Lord doing and continue to covet your prayers!

I love you all and miss you already! Keep praying for more of Jesus!

Your son in the Lord--tim
